B.19 1905 DATED GERMAN PATRIOTIC 56th REGIMENT ( VOGEL von FALCKENSTEIN ) VETERANS ASSOCIATION SILK BANNER ( OBVERSE ). ( Single side only )
The 56th Regiment based in Cleve ( No 7 Westfalisches inf reg ) became the 56 line infantry regiment. These flags are extremely beautiful the quality is consistent throughout these banners. This example is still attached to the original skien though it is finished. The photographs show the design . In the centre a representation of the 56th Infantry Regiment Shoulder strap. and the usual German veterans association mottos & dates. Fabulous bordering Oak leaves and very detailed crown Now in a fragile condition but still a beautiful piece of skilled handcraft.
Good single side of a Veterans Regimental banner

B.20 NSBO FLAG . ( STADT WITTEN ) .

The Nationalsozialistische Betriebszellenorganisation ( NSBO ) started in 1931 generally from Industrial and factory cells. with groups of members from as little as 50 workers to groups like those at RheinMetal of 2000. Each group had its own banner and eventually came under the umbrella of the D.A.F. This particular cell flag was from the town of Witten which is an industrial town on the edge of the Ruhr industrial zone.
This was part of a trade for a pickelhaube and I am afraid that is all I know……The flags scarlet base looks to be wool as does the blue "Witten" panel. The white roundal and the black swastika are cotton and it is cm x cm in size excluding the metallic fringe. ..It has what appears to be a silver metallic fringe running round 3 sides It has 7 cloth loops running down the other side.
