S.1 IMPERIAL PRUSSIAN INFANTRY OFFICERS SWORD
An interesting Imperial German officer's 1889 pattern sword, of heavy construction The handle has the name in German gothic script ''Friedrich Munster ''t and the pommel has '' 5. v Bohen Nr 45'' Sharkskin handle with gilt WR2 insignia , all wire wrap in tact. Thumb grip remains. The blade is by 'PDL' ( P.D. Luneschloss) and is 81cm (32in) and 20mm wide (the average sword blade of this type is15mm wide), double fuller high polish blade undamaged and excellent. Still with its leather sword throat washer. Fixed.eagle basket grip..Steel scabbard withdent free but with one or two tiny blemishes. Overall the whole in very good condition. An excellent example of a superior quality Infantry officers sword.

On the blade is a superb blue / blacked panel with '' v Falkenstein s.l. Baron von der Goltz'' with stands of arms foliage over half the blade . On the reverse a panel with a garde star another with an officer on a horse and the largest panel has ''Garde Pionier Batl. --'' The number has been removed probably because the officer ended up as the CO of the 3rd battalion having ing started off in the 1st, A magnificent and rare named sword excellent The scabbard is single ringed ( was two ringed) as is proper with a later sword, is ding free and probably refinished .

Brass jawless lion head sword handle with copper wire bound leather handle in very good condition, wire binding complete.Guard with a strongly raised early form of Saxon wappen. The langet is in the French style as are the hangers and throat.The Blade with fine blueing & gilding and silver for 2 / 3 of its length showing Saxon Wappen, stands of arms etc etc all in the early baroque form.The length of curved blade to approximately 32 inch or 82cm approx .98% of the original browing remains to the scabbard.Small 'ding' to the rear of Scabbard Finish bright throughout .. Found in Dresden some tears ago. A hugh heavy early 19th century heavy cavalry sword . Brass jawless lion head sword handle with silvered wire bound fishskin handle in good condition but with a crack at the top rear of the handle, wire binding complete. Guard with a strongly chiselled trophies etc. The langet is in square style .The Blade when simply cleaned came out mirror bright .......inch blade with a rare scalloped vicious looking Napoleonic style point. The length of curved blade to approximately 32 inch or 82cm approx.
It came in the scabbard to be seen in 19A below This doesn' t feel right for the sword but it fits the extreme curvature of the sword vert well. Of Massive construction and weighted end ( for using as a club ) Scabbard appears refinished Finish bright throughout .. An rare sword of an early period,. for the scabbard see item 19A below...

Blade with Basket hilt with Saxon Wappen of superb heavy detail and quality. With a large polished steel finished scabbard. I believe that the inner scabbard lining has moved a bit so that the sword is offset at the throat. A very rare sword in excellent condition.

This is an unusual, what appears to be a polished steel sword and scabbard. It is in the typical Artillery heavy 'luxus' quality manufacture with a 33 inch 84cm blade 1" wide of ''Grosser'' type. With a blued panel with Feld Artill:Regt. Konig Karl (1 Wurtt) Nr 13. surrounded by foliage etc. On the reverse side half the blade is covered with Foliage stands of arms etc etc. No maker. This blade is in magnificent condition. The scabbard is polished steel with no dents This sword's original Sword knot and a single leather and brocade hanging strap are to be found below. ..In overall very good condition.
